What is Seaweed?

Seaweed is the collective term for all the seaweeds grown in water.
There are two types of water grown plants, which is algae and seed plants, but the seed plants are not edible.
Within the algae, there are freshwater algae that is grown only in freshwater and sea algae that is grown in sea water.

Seed Plant Algae
Plants that roots, stem, and leaves are undefined.
Fresh Water Algae
Algae that grows on fresh water.
Seaweed
Algae that grows on sea.

Moreover, sea algaes are categorized into green algae, red algae, brown algae and such depending on their colors. A difference in a color is caused by the depth of where its grown and shallower it gets, algae color gets close to land plant, green. As algae goes deeper, color changes into brown to red.
